Local A&R – Scarf!
Local A&R is intended to pluck the Treasure Valley bands who show potential and ambition (but are still getting their feet wet) from obscurity and give them a chance to find a broader audience as they evolve and improve on their music.
Spunky bands that translate into pure fun aren’t too common in Les Bois. While there are numerous entertaining and engaging acts in town, most are very serious about their craft, which is absolutely fine. Scarf!, however, emits the feeling that they are doing this purely because it’s fun, they have a great time doing it, and they enjoy getting on stage and bringing their ruckus to the dancing concert-goers in front of them.
The playful, Munster-type tones of the organ add a quirky and kitschy vibe to the band’s messy-chic garage rock. Singer Kim B’s Bikini Kill vocals-on-crack scream at you, and yet still draw you in.
This band is doing something different and “weird,” and that’s what makes them so exciting.
If you like fellow local band Finn Riggins‘ energy, you will most definitely enjoy the stylings of Scarf!
