After you’ve finished tonight’s First Thursday activities, head over to the Red Room Tavern and congratulate our former art contributor, Nick Burgdorf. The mostly-sold collection by Burgdorf (who signs his work as Pickle) will be up and available for viewing all night, including his many pop-art pieces like the one above. The show starts at 9PM and it’s free. Grab a drink, take a look, and put your name on the remaining pieces quickly.

Finn Riggins will kick off their Spring U.S. Tour tonight at the Visual Arts Collective with help from World’s Greatest Ghosts, Microbabies and With Child. Doors open at 8PM and it’s $5 to get in.
The band will be traveling up and down the West coast and will detour at SXSW, where I predict they will get some major audience and music journalist love. They’ll finish off the tour by canvassing the rest of the country before heading back to Idaho. This is your last chance to see them for several months, so go do it!

By Stephanie MaySkank it up tonight at Gustos with Ska legends The Toasters. Whether you realize it or not, you’ve probably heard the New York City band, who have been around for nearly 30 years, on commercials and television shows like Mission Hill. Pop over to their MySpace or Last.fm station to hear classics “2Tone Army” and “Don’t Let the Bastards Grind You Down,” or download a live show here to get a feel for the band. Boiseans The Useless and Voice of Reason will also play.
In related Ska news, Too Much Distortion will also welcome Voodoo Glow Skulls to the Treasure Valley on March 31st. The Useless, All Hands Go, and Radillac will open at Gustos.
