By Stephanie MayFinn Riggins will kick off their Spring U.S. Tour tonight at the Visual Arts Collective with help from World’s Greatest Ghosts, Microbabies and With Child. Doors open at 8PM and it’s $5 to get in.
The band will be traveling up and down the West coast and will detour at SXSW, where I predict they will get some major audience and music journalist love. They’ll finish off the tour by canvassing the rest of the country before heading back to Idaho. This is your last chance to see them for several months, so go do it!

This is an all ages event, so pack up the kiddies and introduce them to the awesomeness that is local Indie.

From the band:
Hey guys and gals!
I know it has been too long since this has been updated (my bad guys, I know we have internet in the van now, but I get car sick if I even try to do this while riding. That’s my lame excuse and I’m sticking with it!) I’ve been keeping up with taking photos along the road and I’d like to give you a little glimpse into the land of tour with my favorite pix. Just click on the thumbnail to view a larger/complete version. Enjoy!
Gilbert and Cam with their idol, PBR man in Las Cruces at the epic Halloween house show! (10/31/09) Cam is a nerd, and Gilbert is a “professional Bocci Ball player”. Yes IT’S A REAL THING. Don’t argue. Oh, this is after he put on pants, before he had on short shorts and high socks, it really completed the look.
Read the rest of the tour blog at finnriggins.com. You can catch the band in Boise on November 10th at the BSU Special Events Center at 7PM, or November 11th at the Neurolux at 8PM. The BSU show is free and all ages, and Spondee and comedian Matt Bragg will also perform. $3 will get the 21 and up crowd into the Neurolux show, and Mousy Brown and Scarf! will open.

Finn Riggins VS Wilderness VS Yukon Jack -- Photo by Dustin Verburg
Here’s a short synopsis of Finn Riggins VS Wilderness: “Wake” is a Sunday Drive, “VS Birds” is a costume party, “Furs” is the first cocktail of your weekend, “Antoinette Pt. 2″ is the last beer before your work week begins, “Rush of Animals (Prelude)” is your first conscious breath when you wake up in the morning, “Battle” is taking a long look in a speckled mirror, “Rush of Animals” is your mind racing around in drunken spirals just before you fall asleep, “Dali” is a flamboyant celebration of danger and free choice, “Antoinette Pt. 1″ is closing your eyes and seeing a clenched fist, “Mahoney” is knowing you’re right without even having to consult Wikipedia and “Shaky” is the daydream you wish you could remember a little bit better.
