Eric Ingersoll’s project, Night Genes, will be the center of attention Thursday night with the release of his new album, Two Phantoms & A Holy Ghost.

Night Genes sounds like an unlikely pairing of rootsy folk-pop, fronted by Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan. Songs like “Adipose Fin” erupt into a full-bodied folk song and draw you closer to feeling the dread lingering in Ingersoll’s deep vocals, sounding like he just spent a long, drunken night in the town pokey.

Celebrating with Ingersoll will be openers Thomas Paul and Chad Cooke. The party is at 8PM at the Visual Arts Collective, and it’s $5 to get in.
